Anna Faris keeps formulaic "Bunny" hopping

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - It might wear its derivative, "Legally Blonde"-meets-"Mean Girls" trappings like a rhinestone thong, but strip away the second-hand attire, and "The House Bunny" still manages to stand on its own two skyscraper heels thanks to the comic force of nature that is Anna Faris.

While her title character -- a former Playboy Bunny who becomes house mother to a sorry sorority -- borrows liberally from Judy Holliday and Marilyn Monroe, Faris also makes it her own in an irrepressible turn that's hard to resist.

That performance should handily extend Columbia's summer comedy winning streak in a vehicle that plays to males and females, packing some real sleeper potential. The studio releases the film Friday (August 22).

Faris, who strutted her comic stuff in such movies as "Lost in Translation" and the "Scary Movie" franchise, as well as on "Friends" as the surrogate mother of Monica and Chandler's baby, goes for the gold here as the clueless Shelley, who's one of Hugh Hefner's favorites (and Hef's on hand to prove it) until she's turfed from the Playboy Mansion upon turning 27.

That's, like, 59 in Bunny years, Shelley's told, and she briefly finds herself out on the street before landing a gig transforming the socially challenged residents of the Zeta Alpha Zeta sorority house into bona fide babes.

In the process, while spouting words of wisdom like "My heart was pounding like a nail," she learns a thing or two from the sisters about the importance of being true to yourself.

If the formula sounds awfully familiar, at least writers Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith elected to rip themselves off, having penned "Legally Blonde."

Although moments of inspiration are few and far between, director Fred Wolf (in a vast improvement over his first feature, "Strange Wildnerness"), keeps things bouncing along at an agreeable pace, while allowing Faris plenty of wiggle room.

She's unmistakably the main attraction -- and her hysterical habit of repeating the names of new people she meets in a low growl that summons up "The Exorcist" is destined to become the picture's calling card.

Providing capable backup is a supporting cast including celebrity offspring Colin Hanks and Rumer Willis. "Bunny" also boasts especially amusing turns from "Superbad's" Emma Stone (registering early Lindsay Lohan) as the Zetas' unofficial leader and Kat Dennings as her glib, heavily pierced sorority sister.

MUI Sumenep saat ini lebih bersikap hati-hati dalam mempertimbangan antara positif dan negatif merokok. Sebab, sejak dulu hukum rokok menjadi perdebatan para ulama.

Dalam perspektif hukum agama, ulama berbeda pendapat. Ada yang mengatakan, hukum rokok itu haram, makruh, mubah, bahkan bisa sunnah.

Ketua MUI Kabupaten Sumenep, KH Ahmad Syafraji mengaku terpukul sebagai pengurus MUI tingkat kabupaten dengan banyaknya pemberitaan yang menyudutkan MUI selama ini.

"Saya sendiri sebagai orang MUI daerah tidak pernah ada komunikasi dari MUI pusat jika akan mengeluarkan fatwa rokok haram," terang Syafraji pada wartawan di rumahnya, Jalan KH Zainal Arifin, Sumenep, Minggu (24/8/2008).

Dia mengaku telah mengirim surat ke MUI pusat untuk mengklarifikasi tentang fatwa mengharamkan rokok. Sebab, nama MUI di daerah sangat terpuruk dengan pemberitaan sejumlah media massa.

Menjadikan OpenSUSE sebagai Proxy Server bisa dilakukan dengan melakukan instalasi dan konfigurasi Squid. Squid sudah dibundel pada CD/DVD OpenSUSE, jadi kita bisa langsung melakukan instalasi Squid tanpa perlu melakukan download paket.

Konfigurasi Squid dapat dilakukan dengan 2 cara, yaitu melakukan pengubahan secara manual pada file konfigurasi squid (squid.conf) dengan text editor atau melakukan pengubahan menggunakan webmin.

Tutorial ini akan menyampaikan cara konfigurasi Squid dengan Webmin, oleh karena itu lakukan instalasi Webmin terlebih dahulu.

Setelah Webmin diinstall, ikuti langkah-langkah berikut :


1. Install Squid menggunakan YAST. Jika ingin menggunakan Konsole / Terminal, kita bisa mengetikkan perintah yast -i squid.

2. Buka browser dan ketikkan alamat host webmin dan squid diinstall. Contoh : Jika instalasi squid dan webmin dilakukan pada komputer server dengan IP Address 192.168.0.1, dengan port webmin adalah 10000 dan Webmin diaktifkan dalam modus SSL, silakan ketikkan https://192.168.0.1:10000. Sesuaikan konfigurasi tersebut dengan konfigurasi yang digunakan.

3. Pada halaman login, masukkan user name dan password webmin yang sudah disetup saat melakukan proses instalasi

4. Pada halaman Webmin, pilih bagian Server | Squid

5. Karena Squid baru diinstall, klik tombol Initialize Cache untuk melakukan insialisasi cache yang akan digunakan oleh Squid.

7. Klik Ports and Networking. Disini kita akan menetukan port yang akan digunakan. Default dari Squid adalah 3128. Saya biasa memakai port 8080. Sesuaikan dengan port yang diinginkan (note : Jangan pakai port-port yang dialokasikan untuk service lain, seperti port 80 untuk web, port 25 untuk SMTP, port 110 untuk POP3 dan port sejenis lainnya). Kalau sudah diubah, klik Save dan kembali ke halaman awal Squid.

8. Kita akan menambahkan cache. Klik Other Caches | Add Another Cache. Pada Hostname, isikan IP Address, port gunakan port 8080 sedangkan untuk ICP gunakan port default 3130. Klik disini untuk melihat screenshotnya.



Tipe Proxy ada 2 jenis, Parent dan Sibling. Cara kerjanya hampir sama. Yang membedakan, jika kita menggunakan tipe Parent, Squid akan melakukan proses request dari klien ke cache sendiri. Jika tidak ada, akan diambil dari parent dan jika di proxy parent tidak ada juga, akan diambilkan dari web langsung. Jika menggunakan tipe Sibling, request yang tidak ditemukan dari Parent tidak akan diambilkan dari web. Tutorial ini menggunakan tipe proxy Parent.

Setelah selesai, klik Save dan kembali ke halaman utama
9. Klik Memory Usage. Disini kita bisa menentukan besar memori yang akan digunakan oleh Proxy. Sebaiknya isi secara manual. Standarnya adalah N/3 dari memori yang tersedia. Jangan lupa tentukan dalam format MB, bukan KB :-D. Setelah selesai, klik Save dan kembali ke halaman utama Squid. Klik disini untuk melihat screenshotnya.


10. Klik Access Control. Bagian ini akan menentukan batasan-batasan yang akan diberlakukan pada Proxy. Bagian ini juga yang akan sering diupdate jika kita melakukan penambahan pengaturan penggunaan proxy

11. Pertama-tama kita tentukan Client yang bisa melakukan akses ke Proxy. Pada halaman Access Control, klik Create New ACL berdasarkan Client Address.

12. Pada ACL Name, berikan nama ACL. Kemudian isikan From IP dan To IP dengan range IP yang boleh mengakses proxy. Sesuaikan netmasknya. Failure URL bisa diisi (opsional) dengan halaman web yang memberikan informasi jika ACL ini tidak dipenuhi. Setelah selesai, klik Save. Berikut adalah screenshotnya.


13. Tetap dihalaman Access Control, klik Add Proxy Restriction. Disini kita bisa menentukan apakah suatu aturan membolehkan akses atau tidak terhadap ACL yang sudah dibuat. Dalam hal ACL bolehinternet sesuai contoh, kita akan memberikan akses Allow. Pilih ACL yang sudah dibuat, klik Allow dan klik Save.

14. Agar ACL yang kita buat diproses lebih dahulu dibandingkan ACL lainnya, pindahkan urutan ACL yang kita buat agar naik ke peringkat atas. Hal ini bisa dilakukan dengan menekan tombol panah atas pada ACL yang kita buat.

15. Setelah selesai melakukan setting, kita bisa kembali ke halaman utama Squid dan menjalankannya.

16. Setelah Squid dijalankan, kita dapat melakukan setting pada browser klien agar bisa mengakses internet melalui Proxy dengan konfigurasi sebagai berikut :

Port : Port sesuai konfigurasi

INDIANAPOLIS - A woman who grew to be 7 feet, 7 inches tall and was recognized as the world's tallest female died Wednesday, a friend said. She was 53.

Sandy Allen, who used her height to inspire schoolchildren to accept those who are different, died at a nursing home in her hometown of Shelbyville, family friend Rita Rose said.

The cause of death was not yet known. Allen had been hospitalized in recent months as she suffered from a recurring blood infection, along with diabetes, breathing troubles and kidney failure, Rose said.

In London, Guinness World Records spokesman Damian Field confirmed Wednesday that Allen was still listed as the tallest woman. Some Web sites cite a 7-foot-9 woman from China.

Coincidentally, Allen lived in the same nursing home, Heritage House Convalescent Center, as 115-year-old Edna Parker, whom Guinness has recognized as the world's oldest person since August 2007.

Allen said a tumor caused her pituitary gland to produce too much growth hormone. She underwent an operation in 1977 to stop further growth.

But she was proud of her height, Rose said. "She embraced it," she said. "She used it as a tool to educate people."

Allen appeared on television shows and spoke to church and school groups to bring youngsters her message that it was all right to be different.

After Allen was listed by Guinness as the world's tallest woman, she won a role in Federico Fellini's 1976 film "Casanova," appearing as "Angelina the Giantess." She was featured in the 1981 Canadian documentary "Being Different." She also appeared in a TV movie called "Side Show" in 1981.

Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels said he met Allen twice.

"Then, and from a distance, I admired very much the way she handled a uniquely difficult situation with uncomplaining grace," he said.

Allen weighed 6-1/2 pounds when she was born in June 1955. By the age of 10 she had grown to be 6-foot-3, and by age 16 she was 7-1.

She wrote to Guinness World Records in 1974, saying she would like to get to know someone her own height.

"It is needless to say my social life is practically nil and perhaps the publicity from your book may brighten my life," she wrote.

The recognition as the world's tallest woman helped Allen accept her height and become less shy, Rose said.

"It kind of brought her out of her shell," Rose said. "She got to the point where she could joke about it."

In the 1980s, she appeared for several years at the Guinness Museum of World Records in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

"I'll never forget the old Japanese man who couldn't speak English, so he decided to feel for himself if I was real," she recalled with a chuckle when she moved back to Indiana in 1987.

"At Guinness there were days when I felt like I was doing a freak show," she said. "When that feeling came too often, I knew I had to come back home."

Difficulty with mobility had forced Allen to curtail her public speaking in recent years, Rose said. She had suffered from diabetes and other ailments and used a wheelchair to get around.

A scholarship fund has been set up in Allen's name through the Blue River Community Foundation, Rose said, with proceeds going to Shelbyville High School.

"She loved talking to kids because they would ask more honest questions," Rose said. "Adults would kind of stand back and stare and not know how to approach her."

One-two punch
Since narrowly missing the Olympic Trials in 2004, Sacramone has established herself as one of the world's best on floor and vault, winning gold on floor at the 2005 World Championships and adding silver on vault in 2006. In 2007, Sacramone took bronze on vault and silver on floor at the world championships in Stuttgart, Germany.

Three for four
Though she's competed on uneven bars in the past -- and still trains on the event -- Sacramone opts to compete on vault, balance beam and floor exercise only. She's an Olympic medal contender on vault and floor, with five world medals in those two events, and is a strong balance beam worker. Even an average uneven bars score could make her an all-around threat, but Sacramone said in May that she's hung up her grips for good.

Break from Brown
Sacramone is taking the academic year off from her studies as a sociology major at Brown University.

Pioneer for a year
During the 2006-07 school year, Sacramone pulled double duty, competing for Brown's gymnastics team while maintaining her position on the U.S. National team. After the 2007 Worlds, she made the Olympics her priority and turned professional, foregoing her NCAA eligibility. She still remains close to the Brown team and attends its home competitions. Sacramone credits the lengthy collegiate season with turning her from a notoriously inconsistent beam worker to a go-to athlete in pressure situations. Her beam has improved so much that she would have made the world final in 2007 had it not been for the two-per-country limitations.

Brown's top gymnast in 2006, Sacramone was the Ivy League's Rookie of the Year. She set school records on the vault, floor and also in the all-around. She became the first gymnast in league history to finish first on every event and win the all-around at the Ivy Classic, and she also set an Ivy Classic record in the all-around and tied the record on the vault.

Wild child to mother hen
The straight-talking Sacramone says in the past, she was "difficult" and "not willing to listen" to her longtime coach, Romanian Mihai Brestyan. Now, at age 20 and the oldest member of the U.S. gymnastics team, Sacramone says she's changed. She often fields questions and advises the younger gymnasts, many of whom she's taken under her wing as the unofficial team mom. When a mistake-ridden balance beam rotation at the 2007 Worlds unnerved the young U.S. squad, Sacramone circled the group and delivered a speech that was part pep talk, part battle cry. And fittingly, it was Sacramone's clutch performance that sealed the gold for the U.S. team.

Heartbreak
As a standout on the U.S. National team on floor and vault, many believed that Sacramone was a contender for the 2004 Games, despite her international inexperience. But a disastrous 2004 Nationals kept her from advancing to the Olympic Trials, and she spent August of that year watching the Games on television -- when she could bear to. That, coupled with a back fracture, nearly drove Sacramone to quit the sport.

Never too late
As a child, Sacramone enrolled in dance classes but quickly found them boring and switched to gymnastics when she was nearly 9, giving her a relatively late start in the sport. She caught up quickly, though, and reached the elite level at age 12.

BEIJING (AP)—Mariel Zagunis stood proudly atop the podium, the first American to do so at these Olympics.

A former president was in the front row—and three red, white and blue flags were rising to the rafters.

“It was a dream come true,” Zagunis said.

Zagunis won the first U.S. gold medal of the Beijing Games, leading an American sweep Saturday in women’s saber fencing. Zagunis took the gold with a 15-8 victory over Sada Jacobson, who won the silver. Becca Ward took the bronze.

Before the fencing medals were awarded, the Americans had been shut out of Olympic medals, trailing the likes of Cuba, North Korea, Taiwan and Uzbekistan in the overall standings. Then the saber trio went to work, moving the U.S. to the top of the table with three medals.

And to make the night even more memorable, former President George H.W. Bush was in the front row for the medal ceremony, just to the side of where the three flags were lifted.

“It was amazing. It was emotional. It was such a dramatic moment,” Bush said. “To win all three was simply magnificent.”

Zagunis was also saber champion in 2004, when she became the first American in a century to win a fencing gold. Now, the U.S. is a legitimate powerhouse— in women’s saber at least. These same three women are seeded No. 1 for the team competition on Thursday.

“We hope that any success we have goes to making our sport more popular,” Jacobson said. “If we can get even one girl to take up fencing, then we’ve done well.”

The sport endured some growing pains even after Zagunis’ big win in 2004. The U.S. Olympic Committee took over USA Fencing’s high performance program for this year’s Olympics, citing financial problems for the sport’s national governing body.

“We’re just here trying to do our jobs,” Jacobson said. “It hasn’t been an issue that has impeded our performance at all.”

Clearly not.

Zagunis and Ward, members of the same Oregon fencing club, met in the semifinals. Zagunis prevailed 15-11, and Ward left in tears.

Ward still looked red-faced and shaken when she came out for the bronze medal match, and she fell behind 6-1 to Russia’s Sofiya Velikaya. But the 18-year-old from Portland, Ore., rallied for a dramatic 15-14 victory that ensured a U.S. sweep.

“I kind of got my head back in the bout that I was in, because I was really hung up on my last bout,” Ward said. “It was a quick turnaround.”

Once that victory was out of the way, Zagunis and Jacobson took center stage. Jacobson, of Dunwoody, Ga., won the bronze in 2004. She was the top seed in this year’s competition but couldn’t overcome Zagunis in the final.

Zagunis, of Beaverton, Ore., never trailed in the gold medal bout—her most lopsided win of the tournament. When it was over, Zagunis ripped off her mask and let out a yell, then shook hands with Jacobson and shared a hug with her teammate. Zagunis returned to the strip with an American flag, which she held in her hands while bowing in two directions.

She then dropped down and kissed the floor.

Jacobson missed out on a similar celebration—but the joy eventually hit her.

“I don’t think I anticipated the emotion I would feel up there,” Jacobson said of sharing the podium. “It was such a feeling of pride.”

At least one famous American felt it too.

Ancam Bunuh Obama dan Bush, Pria Muda Ditangkap

Washington - Otoritas AS telah menangkap seorang pria yang mengancam akan membunuh capres AS Barack Obama. Pria berusia 22 tahun itu juga mengatakan akan membunuh Presiden AS George W Bush.

Pria bernama Raymond Hunter Geisel asal Florida itu telah diinterogasi pada 1 Agustus lalu oleh agen-agen Dinas Rahasia AS di Miami. Demikian disampaikan juru bicara Dinas Rahasia AS Ed Donovan seperti dilansir kantor berita AFP, Jumat (8/8/2008).

Menurut laporan Dinas Rahasia, Geisel mengatakan kepada rekan mahasiswanya "negro itu jika dia terpilih, saya sendiri yang akan bunuh dia." Meski saat itu tidak menyebut nama, namun kata-kata itu jelas mengacu pada Obama, capres dari Partai Demokrat.

Mahasiswa lain mengatakan kepada agen Dinas Rahasia bahwa dia mendengar Geisel mengatakan bahwa "dia membenci George W Bush dan dia ingin menyarangkann peluru ke kepala presiden".

Dalam penggeledahan di rumah dan mobil Geisel, aparat menemukan golok, pistol berisi peluru, pisau-pisau, amunisi pistol, dua tabung gas air mata dan barang-barang lain.

Saat diinterogasi Dinas Rahasia AS, Geisel membantah telah melontarkan ancaman terhadap Obama ataupun Bush. Namun diakui Geisel kalau dirinya mengatakan, jika dia ingin membunuh Senator Obama maka cukup dengan menembaknya dengan senapan sniper. Namun menurut Geisel dirinya saat itu cuma bercanda.

Kemudian Geisel disuruh menandatangani statemen yang berbunyi: "Saya Ray Geisel tidak mengatakan akan membunuh Presiden ataupun Senator Obama."

Meski Geisel mengaku hanya bercanda, namun pria muda itu tetap akan diadili. Sebab dalam hukum AS ada larangan membuat ancaman terhadap presiden ataupun kandidat utama kepresidenan.(ita/nrl)
